The Anti-Trump

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama is, in a way, a “Last of the Mohicans” . . . one of the final bridges we have between the old country of Tibet and modern Tibetan Buddhist practices and ways.

He is extensively world-traveled, has authored more than 150 books, and hosts regular meetings of the planet’s wisest philosophers, neuro-scientists and doctors.

Still, he is an old-time lama, filled with tales and anecdotes that fill our hearts with beauty and inspire our minds with their sharp and provocative insights.

He is extensively available to us in writings and films, and online in video’ed teachings and interviews that number in the thousands. And he regularly visits North America, holding public teachings and events.

In these days of turmoil, his presence remains a steadying, enriching, encouraging and heartening force, freely shared with us.

His Holiness is now midway through his 82nd year . . . one day he will be gone, and to awaken each morning into a world in which we know he’s with us will become a forever-lost treasure.

Appreciate his presence . . . become increasingly familiar with his ways . . . spend more time with his ideas . . . engage in his sensibilities.

~One need not be “Buddhist” to do so, and neither grief or a broken heart, or fear, precludes you from doing it.
