What To Do

BC20Again there is news of terrorist activity, scores of dead and injured, today not by guns or bombs, but by the driver of a truck.
It took place at a Bastille Day event in South France, in which people gathered to celebrate that nation’s freedom and culture.

What to say? :: What to do? :: How to react?

Buddhism challenges us not to chase after pleasure, gain, credit or importance, nor to avert pain, loss, blame or irrelevance, as these will all occur and vanish with or without our urgings.

This is true in all situations, times and places . . . and throughout all our lives.

There are many Dharma maxims and slogans that are relevant to our navigating of this, many are profound and wide-ranging.
For right now, consider the guidance of the following . . .

“Do not pursue former suffering.
Everything, whether good or bad, is past and gone.
Do not anticipate future suffering.”
