Election Day, 2016
“The luminous nature of mind, like the changeless sky, is unaffected by temporary events.” — Bodhisattva Maitreya
What Maitreya says is very reassuring, especially if one has the experience to affirm it.

We are all so familiar with our ordinary mind . . . like breathing we tend to take it for granted, and pay little attention to where it takes us.
This has been especially true for many during this Election cycle, where fear, hatred, distrust, resentment and anger have led to almost constant distortion, worry, agitation, anxiety and despair.

Although it may appear to be so, this is not “normal” . . . these are self-defeating patterns that can only bring disharmony.
The Buddha called this Samsara, a Sanskrit word that means an endless cycle of pain and suffering.
The Election, a distracting caldron of samsaric energy is now, finally, after today, over. Such is the nature of temporary events . . . they end.
Please feel free to move beyond its effects . . . engage in the big “let-Go” . . . untangle . . . find the clearing within your mind.
Sit, pay attention . . . demonstrate integrity, care for others.
Listen to the whispers of your wiser self . . . embrace the inspirations for wholesomeness arising in your mind.
Feel comfortably safe, confident, empowered.

Again, Maitreya taught “The luminous nature of mind, like the changeless sky, is unaffected by temporary events.”
Experience this.
The Election is over. Include its completion in your practice. The path, unencumbered, lies before you.
-Neither grief or a broken heart, or fear, precludes you from experiencing this.
